Supporting better mental health
in the UK energy sector

EnergyMind is a new project dedicated to creating a positive culture around mental wellbeing in the energy industry. It aims to change the culture and perceptions around mental wellbeing at work, enabling the whole industry to operate more effectively.

Why is change needed?

We spend a lot of our time at work, which means that our working environment can have a significant impact on our wellbeing. Those working in the energy industry will appreciate that while the changeable nature of energy can be exciting, it can also be stressful – and if work-related stress isn’t dealt with, it can build up and lead to more serious mental health issues.

This means that a proactive approach to protect employees’ mental wellbeing is beneficial for everyone involved. By ensuring energy professionals have the support they need to manage stress, we can reduce the number of working days lost to stress-related illnesses (a staggering 15 million days in 2017/18).
